Thick Skinned

Published by John under 1936 Chevy

0425121251 After I installed the new inner structure on both of the ’36 Chevy doors a couple of days ago, I started forming a replacement panel to re-skin the lower exterior of the passenger side. I began by bending a long edge over itself and then clamped the metal on the bench to shape it to the form with wooden mallets. I’ll be doing one for the driver’s side as well, but want to make sure everything works as planned before making two.

Deja Vu All Over Again

Published by John under 1936 Chevy

0304121153 After baseball games, practices, front- and backyard catches, work, and anything else life might throw my way, I’ve still been making time to work on the ’36 since the last writing. Even if it’s only been an hour or two every couple of evenings, it’s important to “stay after it” to keep the wind from going out of a project’s proverbial sails. Make no error by reading anything into the previous statement that interest is waning, I have an ardent fervor for this. It is simply that I acknowledge other priorities.

S’More on the Door

Published by John under 1936 Chevy

0317121212 After completing my trunk floor diversion, I got side-tracked by the back window reveal.
